$2 Pool at Rāwhiti School

The "$2 Pool" arose from a need for the children of the New Brighton area to have access to a swimming pool.

The "$2 Pool" arose from a need for the children of the New Brighton area to have access to a swimming pool. We received funding from 2013 to 2017 to operate over the summer months with a full time Manager and part time staff - all of whom were qualified surf lifesaving instructors.

We operated outside of school hours – and full time over weekends and during the school holidays. The “$2 Pool” attracted over 8000 visits.

The school now operates the pool only in summer term time for their students as we have the wonderful Te Tairoa QEII Pools now.
